We are building The Harness Companion in a time where the relationship between people and technology is being redefined. AI agents are changing what it means to build software, and we believe the tools that shape this new era should be open, transparent, and collectively be improved by the community that uses them.

The Harness Companion is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. This means you are free to:
- +Use The Harness Companion in your own projects, personal or commercial
- +Modify the templates and workflows to fit your needs
- +Distribute your modified version to others
- +Keep your modifications private or make them public
The one requirement: the NOTICE file must be preserved. It attributes The Harness Companion to its origin. This is how open source works. You build on what came before, and you acknowledge it.
Why open source
We believe that in this new era of AI-augmented development, the infrastructure that enables people to work with intelligent agents should not be locked behind closed walls. The Harness Companion is a tool for everyone who wants to build software differently. With agents that handle the mechanics while humans focus on what matters: deciding what to build.
Open source is not just a license choice for us. It is a reflection of how we think organizations should work: transparently, collaboratively, and to distribute instead of to centralize.
